Why Buy?

The SCREWPOP® – TETHER™ piqued my interest in their company. I have been looking at key organizers for quite some time and their use of buna nitril o’rings instead of typical hardware that is usually used intrigued me.

In my search for EDC gear that can be used on the trail and in the office, I’ve also been looking at multi-tools. The typical multi-tool is cumbersome and has lots of stuff that I don’t feel the need to carry. Over the span of a week, I most often find myself looking for:

  • a way to open boxes from Amazon
  • a screwdriver to open toys to replace batteries (I have kids)
  • something to pry with
  • a small 1/2″ wrench for various tasks

With these things in mind, I found myself interested in the SCREWPOP® – WISHBONE WRENCH, which can be used for the task above as well as opening bottles and includes a small ruler, file and wire stripper. After contacting SCREWPOP, I soon had the above items as well as the INKBINER™, SCREWDRIVER (MAGNETIC), RON’S UTILITY KNIFE 3.0, LIGHTER HOLDER, CHAPSTICK HOLDER and TRAVEL STASH.

First Impressions

I’ve been using/carrying some of the SCREWPOP items over the last couple of weeks. Here are some thoughts:

  • SCREWPOP® – TETHER™
    • It’s been on my belt or in my pocket on and off since I received it. I’ve been comparing it to another key organizer and this one compares favorably, especially when it comes to carrying the KLECKLER KNIFE EDC Tools. More on this later …
  • SCREWPOP® – WISHBONE WRENCH, INKBINER™, SCREWDRIVER (MAGNETIC),
    • I’ve been carrying these on my belt. I haven’t used the pen much, but have been using the wrench and screwdriver. So far, so good.
  • RON’S UTILITY KNIFE 3.0
    • I think I may like this item the most out of the SCREWPOP items I’m testing … oddly enough, I wasn’t really interested in it at first. It works well for my everyday box and package opening and other assorted tasks like cutting up boxes or rope. I like the fact that the blade can be replaced with a generic utility blade … it’s got me re-thinking my ideas on what I need to carry for a knife.
  • LIGHTER HOLDER, CHAPSTICK HOLDER
    • These are living in my backpack. I don’t use a lighter or chapstick on a daily basis, but when I need them, I can never find them. Having the holders attached to my backpack will help me keep track of them.

Future Testing

It will be interesting to see how well buna nitril o’rings hold up and how the Tether compares to other key organizers that I am testing. Overall, I will be testing the durability and longevity of all these items.
