For the last 50+ years, has been making outstanding military, law enforcement and tactical apparel and gear. Having owned several pairs of Propper made pants over the years, it’s one of the first places I looked at when I needed a new belt
Why Buy?
When it comes to EDC I carry stuff on my person as well as in a backpack. Since I don’t always have my backpack with me, I am hoping to carry more of my gear on person. Since I dislike having a ton of loose stuff floating around in my pockets, I am thinking about using a EDC organizer attached to my belt. Since I was in need of a belt, I decided to take a look at carry belts. These belts are built to be more rigid than a normal belt and not sag when under weight of tension.
First Impressions
I’ve been using the Propper Carbon Carry Belt for a few months now (full review coming soon). Here are some thoughts:
- The Good
- After 6 months of daily use, it still looks brand new! There aren’t any wear marks nor discoloration and their isn’t any indication of stretching
- Although rigid, it is surprising comfortable to wear.
- The conveyor belt material grips well – if ou place something like an EDC organizer on it, it stays in place.
- The Bad
- Upon opening the package, the first thing you’ll probably notice is the smell. Since the belt is made from conveyor belt material, it smells like rubber for a few days. Don’t worry though, the smell does go away.
- The belt may not work with all of your pants – some of my dress pants won’t work with this 1.5″ belt.
- As I mention above, the material grips well, so it does not slide easily through belt loops. It takes a bit longer to move this belt to a different pair of pants than it does with my other belts.
- The Bottom Line
- I’m impressed and would recommend this belt to anyone that needs this style of belt.
Future Testing
The last thing I’d like to test is how the belt feels while wearing a backpacking pack loaded with 30 lbs or more.
